Wednesday's wisdom: Tips and tools for keeping a sense of self as a dedicated carer



It can be very easy to lose sight of yourself when dedicating your attention, energy and care outwards to others. It is so good to make that time to consider yourself- if only for a moment each day. One thing that makes me smile is a warm cup of hot chocolate in the cup that is the perfect size for my hands to wrap around it whilst I enjoy the flavour.


Once you switch on your radar for things that help create that smile, over time it starts to become easier to find other little things that make a difference to a day.


I invite you to take a moment and have a think about what can bring a smile to your face, maybe it is a person, a pet, a tv show, a song or maybe it is a quality you have that makes you smile from ear to ear.


Taking time to acknowledge the things that matter to us is important as a carer, it is essential for your wellbeing so lets capture those joys together.
