Take action Thursdays

ree

I found this activity so powerful in helping my wishes to become a reality. Often wishes would seem too far out of reach and I would feel the heavy sensation in the pit of my stomach, until one day I thought of a wish and broke it down into small elements.

Just a few simple examples of my many breakthroughs:

To be able to enjoy music - before my mind was just too busy and it frustrated me - a waste of time when I needed to problem solve, although I still wished that was not so.

  • Gave myself time a few times a week to listen to different music and saved those I liked.

  • Choose long car journeys to listen to those I had chosen

  • Now I listen to music regularly and with full attention and enjoying it. To my astonishment I am now learning to read music and own a harp!

It has taken over a year to get to being this way, but I can now tick off one of my bucket list activities that I wrote 7 years ago - to be able to play an instrument. And it was seemingly easy and fulfilling with small actions. Just deciding to give myself a few times a week to listen to a piece of music and it has opened opportunities that once seemed impossible.

I once wished I could visit Sadhguru for a talk in his home country, a retreat that embraces all it is to be human and amongst mother earth. Knowing I could not do the travel or have the funds I took these first steps-

  • Put his app on my phone and listened to a guided meditation twice a week for just 17mins at a time.

  • Came across his book on audible and would listen to it in bitesize pieces on short car journeys.

  • Saw he had an event in the UK for a day at a very reasonable price and visited him there.

I did not get out to his retreat, however I was able to check off that I had met Sadhguru from my bucket list, and it was ok that it was on UK soil. Again it was not instant, it took time.

There are other ways of not having to wait so long. Loving the idea of wanting to dress more vibrant rather than hiding in black clothing and choosing to buy one thing of colour and wearing that from time to time, which has grown to more colour in my wardrobe that was once a sea of black.

What 1 little step can up incorporate into your life that has an association with a bigger desire? I invite you to give it a go, even if it seems too far out of reach, those small elements can still create something great.
